A witness in murder of a man at Qamarwari on Tuesday recorded his statement in the Principal District and Sessions Court here and was cross examined by the defense counsel.  

The witness identified the seized clothes of the deceased, Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar. He was also cross examined by the defense counsel. 

On September 30, 2013 Noor Muhammad Khanday of Band Qamarwari had lodged a report in police station Qamarwari that his son-in-law, Khana Nisheen, was missing. 

Following the report, police started investigation and found a body in river Jhelum. The body was identified as that of Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar.

During the investigation, police found that the wife of the deceased had developed "illicit relation" with Muhammad Amin Naik. The duo had hatched a conspiracy and to murder Dar.

After investigation, police filed a charge-sheet against the accused in the court of Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar— in the case (FIR 304 of 2013) under sections of murder and common intention to kill.

On December 29, 2013, court had framed charges against Naik and the woman for murdering Dar.
