Traffic department has asked the commuters not to park their vehicles on roadsides in Srinagar. 

"In compliance to Hon'ble High Court of Jammu and Kashmir latest directions vis-a-vis PIL 458/2003 December 15, 2015 regarding the menace of on road parking of vehicles and the subsequent inconvenience to the people in general and pedestrians in particular, all commuters are informed not to park their vehicles on the road side and ensure that vehicles are parked at places earmarked for the purpose," SSP Traffic Srinagar Maqsood -ul- Zaman said in a statement. 

"All those vehicles which are found parked in violation of the law and direction of the Hon'ble High Court shall be seized with immediate effect and shall not be released by any court / authority other than the PIL Bench itself. The application in this behalf shall be filed before the PIL Bench for release of such seized vehicles. All commuters are, once again, informed not to park their vehicles wrongly on the road side and ensure to park vehicles at places designated for off road parking in all areas of City Srinagar," the SSP added.
