Traders of Goni Khan area here whose shops were gutted in a fire incident recently, have appealed the authorities to ensure their rehabilitation.
A delegation of the affected shopkeepers said goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the incident. "We appeal the authorities to take measures for our rehabilitation," they said.
Meanwhile, All Kashmir Traders Federation Shaher-e-Khaas, Zaina Kadal has extended support of fire victims and urged the district administration to ensure speedy rehabilitation of affected traders.
A meeting of the federation held under chairmanship of its president Nazir Ahmad Shah, vice president Nisar Ahmad Zargar, General Secretary Sajad Ahmad Kamili deliberated on measures which could help in rehabilitation of the affected traders.
"We appeal the Sales Tax department to give some concessions to the affected shopkeepers. J&K Bank also has a crucial role to play for providing financial assistance to the affected traders. We appeal A R Shegan, vice president, J&K Bank to extend support to these traders," Shah said.
He said Shaher-e-khaas traders will provide all kind of assistance to the traders fraternity of Goni Khan.
