At SKICC, two workshops were organized on second day. The event was attended by over 300 delegates from across the world. 12 papers from Kashmir were also presented and appreciated by international surgeons and students of surgery.
Dr. Tetsu Kanno, eminent professor and author of neurosurgery from Japan was the chief guest at the event. He delivered a Special lecture on Development of Neurosurgery in Japan and Asia.
Papers were presented by Dr Altaf Umar Ramzan's paper on Meningiomas– the SKIMS experience and Dr. Abrar A Wani's EBM in neurosurgery. Emerging scientific techniques were delved upon by a number of paper presenters. Stem cell transplantation in spinal injury and complication of spinal instrumentation and Management of failed spinal implant.
Neuro-sisters workshop was also held at SKICC on the sidelines. Some of the features of nurses symposium were Brain Surgeries: peri-operative role of nurses, Perceptions of neurotrauma patient's family members on nursing care.
