Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri on Monday said Government is committed to ensure holistic development of Srinagar City.

"Government is committed to ensure holistic development of Srinagar City for which various long and short term measures are underway," Veeri said while reviewing the progress made on the renovation and remodeling of Zero bridge.

The Minister was informed that the Foot Bridge has been re-modeled with a length of 154 meters with six view decks and Houseboat-type-restaurant. An official statement said the bridge is made of wooden material to preserve the heritage. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is expected to inaugurate it.

"Former Chief Minister late Mufti sahib was keen to ensure proper beautification of the river banks of the Jehlum and the idea for re-modeling the Zero Bridge as Foot Bridge with Food Court was conceived by him. The bridge will invite attraction of tourists who are visiting Kashmir," Veeri said.

The Minister was accompanied by MD, JKPCC, Dalip Thusu and other concerned officers.
