Failure of authorities to check wrong parking in city centre areas is causing inconvenience to commuters.
Commuters complain that people park their vehicles along roadsides and footpaths in city centre areas including Lal Chowk, Regal Chowk and Ganta Ghar hampering smooth vehicular movement.
"Some people who visit Lal Chowk for shopping don't bother to park their vehicles at designated parking place. In absence of any monitoring, they park their vehicles outside shops causing traffic jams," they said.
"Traffic police has failed to depute cops to prevent wrong parking," a group of commuters said.
Several people who visited the officers of Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) park their cars and motor cycles outside the office and SP College gate. The problem is compounded as vehicles are even parked on footpaths causing inconvenience to pedestrians and students.
The commuters appealed SSP Traffic Srinagar to look into the matter and take measures to prevent wrong parking at busy areas of city centre.
