Water shortage at Gogo Rangreth

The residents of Gogo Rangreth here on city outskirts are up in arms against the authorities for failing to provide them with uninterrupted drinking water supply.

A delegation from the area said they have been facing water shortage from the last eight months.

"We receive water supply for just one hour in morning. During this time, the pressure in low. We are forced to fetch water from adjoining areas," they said.

The locals said the area receives water supply from the Doodh Ganga water supply scheme. Residents of Wawoosa and its adjoining areas also complained of water shortage.

The residents said government had constructed a water tank in 2012 with a storage capacity of 50,000 gallons.

"However, most of time the water tank is empty. If the problem persists, we would have no option but to stage protests," the aggrieved locals said.
