A local representative of Badamibagh Cantonment Board echoed concern saying "the leakage is affecting the construction works in the area which are being executed by the board."
Abdul Sami, who represents Shivpora area in Cantonment Board said that he had contacted concerned PHE officials to redress the issue "But they come up with excuses like they don't have equipment to plug the leakage. Construction work of the board is affected because of the leakage. The drinking water is wasted into drains besides it has also flooded the roads of our locality," Sami said.
"It is also a tough job to detect and repair work of leakages as we used age-old method to detect leakages and repair them," the official said.
