A student of SP higher secondary school on Wednesday presented Ladi Shah to portray "challenges and harassment" faced by the students of the institution in front of education minister Syed Altaf Bukhari.
The student was performing during the annual day function organized at the institution which got overwhelming response from the audience including teachers, students besides the education minister. In his performance, the student highlighted hardships faced by the students while travelling to and from the school in local transport wherein their physical health gets harmed and uniform gets untidy.
The student through his performance got the attention of the education minister regarding "harassment" faced by the students allegedly by police. The student pointed out that cops often detain students of the institution in police station and tag them as "stone pelters."
During his performance the student also demanded infrastructural up gradation of the school and criticized teachers for making "fake health issues" to ensure their posting in schools located in city and towns.
After being impressed with the performance of the student, Bukhari announced bus service for students of SP school and Kothi Bagh girls' higher secondary school.
"It will be started on experiment basis before the start of new session. If it works, we will extend it for other schools within 90 days after march. We have to see all aspects of this service," Bukhari said.
Later, Bukhari also released 'Mathematics Learning', a book to understand mathematics authored by ZEO Narbal, Abdul Rashid Zargar. He also distributed mementoes among the students for their better performances in sports and art.
Secretary school education Farooq Ahmad Shah also spoke on the occasion.
Director school education Kashmir presented vote of thanks and announced the prize of Rs 10,000 for the group of cultural performance students of SP school.
