Expressing grief over the colossal damage caused to many residential houses in the blaze at Pandaan, Nowhatta, in Downtown here, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and patron of Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today appealed for generous donation for the rehabilitation of fire victims.

"We appeal well off people and all those who can come forward and donate generously to Darul-Khair which has taken up the cause of rehabilitation of the affected families," a spokesman of the Hurriyat, in a statement today, quoted Mirwaiz, who visited Pandan, Nowhatta, today after his release from house detention, to take the stock of the damage caused to residential houses by the fire, as having said. 

Mirwaiz expressed solidarity with the affected families and regretted that property worth crores of rupees got damaged leaving the families homeless.

He assured the affected families that Darul Khair would do as much as possible to rehabilitate them and as soon as possible. 

Mirwaiz urged the youth and the elderly people in the neighborhood to help the fire affected people in every manner.
