Residents of Rose Enclave Shivpora have urged the PowerDevelopment Department to install a transformer which would cater to the everexpanding households in the area.
According to a delegation, the PDD had installed atransformer at Rose Enclave Shivpora when there were 20 households in 1997.Presently the area has about new 150 households and the load is on the oldtransformer which often develops snag and needs repair.
"Apart from more than 170 households, the area has CRPFbattalion camp also which requires additional transformer. We had given manyrepresentations to PDD authorities and even allotted space at the new locationfor the new transformer but till date no action has been initiated by thedepartment in this regard," said members of the delegation.
As per the residents, the load is not only on the singletransformer but also on the wires as recently during snow, many phase lines gotdetached or broke halfway leading to dangerous and risky scenario in themohalla roads.
"We urge advisor to governor and chief engineer to interveneby directing PDD officials to install a new transformer in the allocated spacein the mohalla," said the members.
