Amid unrest in Kashmir, the inhabitants of several areas of Srinagar here have complained of acute water scarcity.
Accusing the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department of failing to restore the water supply, the residents of several Srinagar areas demanded immediate redressal of their grievances.
Inhabitants of Habba Kadal, Nowgam, Naik Bagh, Abu Bakar Colony and Budshah Nagar said that they are facing acute water scarcity from past one week resulting in immense hardships to them.
"We are not getting drinking water from last seven days ," the aggrieved people said. The inhabitants said due to the water scarcity in their area, they have to go to other localities to fetch water in these days of unrest.
The residents appealed Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter. (KNS)
