Two militants, house owner killed in Hyderpora Srinagar gunfight

Srinagar, Nov 15: Two militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Hyderpora area of uptown Srinagar on Monday. The owner of the house who, as per police, was a “terror associate”, was killed in firing by the militants.

Reports said that the police along with security forces launched a search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants. “The militants opened fire as the forces approached their hideout, triggering an encounter,” he said.

The identity of the slain militants was not immediately known.

“The house owner who was injured in terrorist fire, succumbed to his injuries. Terrorists have been hiding on top floor of his building. As per source and digital evidence, he has been working as #terror associate. Search is still going on,” said a police spokesman on Twitter while quoting IGP Kashmir.
