Body of West Bengal youth recovered from Jhelum in Srinagar after 18 days

Srinagar, Nov 25: The body of a 27-year-old non-local resident, who had allegedly jumped into the river 18 days ago, was on Thursday recovered from river Jhelum in Gasi Mohalla locality of Safa Kadal in downtown Srinagar.

Quoting official sources, news agency KNO reported that the youth from West Bengal, was found floating in Jhelum river by locals this afternoon.

   

The body was fished out and later handed to local police for legal medico formalities, an official said adding that the boy had jumped into river Jhelum near Zero bridge, Srinagar on November 7 at around 4 pm.

A case under section 309 has been registered at Police Station Kothi Bagh and further investigations are on.
