Burglary case solved, 2 arrested: Police

Police on Tuesday said it solved a burglary case by arresting two persons involved in the crime.

A statement said on August 17, police post Chanapora received a complaint from one Ghulam Qadir Beigh of Chakpora Nowgam, Srinagar that burglary has occurred in his service station (Sultan Service Station & Car accessories) located at Shah Jeelan Colony Natipora.

   

Accordingly, the statement said, a case (FIR No. 207/2020) was registered in the police station Sadder and investigation was initiated.

“A special investigation team was constituted, headed by SHO police station Saddar. During the course of investigation, some suspects were questioned. One of the suspects identified as Shahid Shafi Mir of Chakpora, who was working in the service station some time ago was also called for questioning. During questioning officers learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime,” said the statement.

It said on his disclosure, stolen property worth lakhs of rupees has been recovered and his accomplice identified as Nisar Ismaiel Sheikh of Mehboob Colony, Chanapora was also arrested.

“Community members have appreciated the efforts made by the police. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities,” said the statement.
