The School Fee Fixation Committee (SFFC) has warned the Minto Circle, English Medium High School at Allouchi Bagh here for de-recognition of the school and registration of criminal case for making illegal hike in their school fee structure in violation of High Court orders.

The warning has been issued to the school management for charging "exorbitant fee" from the students without applying for regularization of fee structure and for enhancement of fee structure of the institution.

"The school has enhanced the fee structure and are charging fee more than what was applicable in August, 2014," reads the SFFC report.

The school administration has been directed to show cause before the committee "why criminal case may not be registered against the Management and Principal of the School".

The committee in its report has stated that the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) will be accordingly asked to process for de-recognition of the School for such "cheating".

Referring to the High Court order, SFFC has stated that the school was asked not to make any enhancement in their fee structure and any enhancement in the fee will amount to clear violation of the directions of the High Court.

"But your action by charging Rs.300 per month from the students amounts to cheating, fraud and causing wrongful gain to itself and wrongful loss to the students," reads the SFFC report.

The school management in its objections has admitted that that they are charging the amount from the students despite not being affiliated to CBSE.

The committee has directed the school management and the Principal to show cause within one week as to why the matter may not be brought to the notice of the High Court with a prayer to initiate action against the School Management and the Principal.

"The Principal shall explain why he allowed such increase in fee in disobedience to the orders of the High Court and this Committee," reads the report.

The committee has stated that the school management has resorted to violation of the High Court directions and also to the orders issued by the Government and the Committee. "So the school management shall also show cause as to why the matter may not be brought to the notice of Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi for appropriate action against the School."

The committee has directed the school management and Principal "immediately" reduce its fee structure and charge from the students only such fee as was applicable in August' 2014 within one week.

"Students of the school are informed not to pay any enhanced fee to the school authorities till any order is made on the case of the school for permission to enhance its fee structure," reads the committee report.
