Srinagar, Nov 30: Civil Secretariat employees here on Tuesday observed a two-hour strike to press for resolution of their demands.
The employees irrespective of the ranks observed the strike on the call given by Lower Grade Employees Union to press for their demands.
In a statement, the Lower Grade Employees Union said that the strike was observed against the “failure of Estates Department to provide residential accommodations to the employees particularly living in far-flung areas.
“The employees also want to draw the attention of the authorities towards erratic power supply which not only hamper normal functioning but results in immense damages to computers,” it reads.
“The employees have also registered their protest against the transfer of 116 posts of various categories to UT of Ladakh which as per them will promotion prospectus of these categories.”
