College students stage protest

Undergraduate students of various colleges of the summer capital on Monday staged protest here demanding relaxation in syallabus for exams of 5th and 6th semesters.

Scores of students from various colleges assembled at Press Enclave here relaxation of 50 percent syllabus for upcoming 5th and 6th semester examination scheduled to be held jointly in August.

   

An undergraduate student of Islamia College who was among the protestors said, “our UG courses started in 2016 and were supposed to finish them in 2018, but our two semesters are still pending.”

“As we have lost lot of our time already, Kashmir University authorities have decided to take our 5th and 6th semester exam jointly and we are expected to prepare and study two semesters in four months which will otherwise take 12 months. Due to this reason, we asked authorities to reduce our syllabus, but they are not accepting it.” the students said.
