CUK holds ‘boot camp’ at Nowgam campus

Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on Thursday held one day boot camp at Nowgam campus here.

A statement said the camp was organized by varsity’s Department of Students Welfare (DSW) in collaboration with start-up Jammu and Kashmir Yatra- a Government of India initiative.

   

Faculty members, senior functionaries of the university and students from various departments were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, dean school of education and director Design Innovation Centre, Prof NA Nadeem, hailed DSW and Start-UP J&K Yatra for organizing the camp.

“Such kind of brain storming idea generation events should be organised in every educational institution across Kashmir in order to curb already prevailing unemployment in the state,” a spokesperson quoted Prof Nadeem as having said, adding “CUK has already established Design Innovation Centre (DIC) and other market related programs”.

He said Prof Nadeem, on behalf of CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir and registrar, Prof Fayaz Ahmad Nika, thanked Start-up J&K Yatra Team.

He said regional coordinator of JKEDI Kashmir and Ladakh Arif Khan, in his address, deliberated about how to generate creative ideas and turn them into the start-ups.

He added Aakarshan, Shivangi, and Gurmeet Malik from start-up team gave in-depth details about start ups.

The program proceedings were conducted by Dr John Babu Koyye, coordinator innovations DSW and Dr Zahoor Geelani, deputy director DSW.
