Residents of Khonakhan Dalgate have appealed the Commissioner Secretary Relief and Rehabilitation to look into inordinate delay in release of pending flood relief amount.

A delegation from the area said the several families in the area from Khonakhan Mandir to Baba Dharam Dass road are yet to receive pending installments of flood relief. "Despite passing of over two years, we are yet to receive the pending installment of relief. We were earlier put under Rs 3800 category. On our persistent demand, the authorities conducted reassessment of losses and the amount was enhanced to Rs 12600 category under which we were supposed to get Rs 1,75000. We have only received Rs 45,000 as per old assessment.  We appeal the Commissioner Secertary Relief and Rehabilitation to look into the matter in reference of his letter number 168-69/r dcf/mcrf/misc 2016 dated March, 3, 2016," they said.
