Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone on Saturday reviewed rehabilitation process of flood victims in the district.
Chairing a meeting of officers, the DC was informed that 86,204 residential houses were damaged in the floods. Besides 5142 houses were completely destroyed in the deluge.
The meeting was also informed that Rs. 85.74 crore has been distributed among the flood victims as relief. While the flood victims living in rented accommodations are being provided Rs 5000 per month and those living in rural areas are being provided Rs. 2000 per month as rent.
The meeting was told that government has expended an amount of Rs. 12.58 crores on this count so far.
The DC directed that in view of weather forecast issued by Meteorological Department, all the departments should be ready to meet eventuality due to snowfall or heavy rains in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the DC visited Harwan area on city outskirts and directed removal of encroachments from government land.
An official communiqué said the DC visited Khimber area and directed the Revenue officials to undertake demarcation of government land and removal of encroachments.
