Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Tuesday visited Parimpora Bus Stand to take firsthand assessment of issues.
During the visit, the DC also held a meeting with stakeholders at Bus Stand. He directed the concerned departments to submit plans for earliest redressal of issues.
It was stressed and informed that convenience to commuters will form an important part of the plan the departments concerned have been asked to prepare for development of the Bus Stand.
Some other issues highlighted and discussed on the occasion included the need for macadamisation, drainage, lighting and cleanliness of the Stand.
Construction of a bus terminal inside the Stand was also discussed with stakeholders on the occasion. The DC directed all concerned to submit proposals with estimates as soon as possible.
He said the district administration was keen on resolving all issues. Meanwhile the Srinagar Development Authority has been directed to remove the encroachment of the Bus Stand road illegally occupied by workshop owners and vendors.
