Former DG Tourism M Ashraf bereaved

Mother of former Director General Tourism and Greater Kashmir columnist, M Ashraf, Ayesha Begum passed away here during intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

In view of the prevailing situation owing to outbreak ofCOVID-19, the bereaved family members including Ashraf, Abdul Hameed Javed andManzoor Ahmad have urged people to either pray at the graveyard nearpolytechnic, Gogjibagh here individually or else pray for the departed soul attheir homes.

   

Popularly known as Amma ji, the deceased was a noble andpious person. She was quite popular for being kind to the needy.  People from different walks of life haveexpressed their condolences to the bereaved family.

Tourism players, media persons and members of civil societyextended sympathy to the bereaved family in general and Ashraf as well. Many ofthem also took to social media for extending condolences to Ashraf and rest ofthe bereaved family.

According to the family, the mourning will be held for onlythree days while they have urged people to stay safe amid the prevailingsituation by praying for the departed soul from either their homes orindividually at the Gogjibagh.
