Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested four gamblers and recovered stake money from their possession in Rajbagh locality in Srinagar.
A police spokesperson said that acting on specific information; a police party carried out at a raid at Kursoo bund Rajbagh and arrested four gamblers from the spot.
“Rs 16,640 in cash and playing cards were also recovered from the spot,” he claimed.
Police identified the arrested men as Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Suhail Ahmad Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and Tariq Ahmad Malik
“A case FIR number 37/2018 has been registered in this regard and investigation has been taken up,” he added.
