A postgraduate teaching program on dose delivery in modern radiotherapy was organized by department of radiation oncology of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in collaboration of Indian College of Radiation Oncology (ICRO) on Friday.
An educative program that saw enthusiastic participation from students as well as faculty of SKIMS was held at SKIMS. The program, a joint venture by radiation oncology department of SKIMS and ICRO – a wing of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) – organised this 28th post-graduate teaching program. The theme of the event was "dose delivery in modern radiotherapy".
The conference was followed with examination where 50 MCQs were posed, in which two toppers Dr D Samuel Sandeep from MNJIORCC, Hyderabad, secured 1st position and Dr Kalyani from Father Muller Medical College, Kankanady secured 2nd position. These two students will be sponsored for upcoming AROICON to be field at H Thiruvanthapuram by Sun Oncology.
Director SKIMS, Omar Javed Shah inaugurated the event in which executive body members of AROI, ICRO, general manager Sun Oncology, and SKIMS Radiation Oncology faculty participated. Besides, 38 post graduate students from various colleges/institutes of the country participated in the event.
Director SKIMS hailed the Department for organising the event and underlined that these events are huge success and the knowledge gained in the long term are ultimately beneficial to cancer patients.
