Indra Nagar residents decry dilapidated road

Residents of Indra Nagar Iqbal Colony here appealed authorities to repair the interior road which was dug up for laying of pipes few months ago.

A delegation from the areas led by Firdous Ahmad Dar said that a drain was constructed in the area under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.

“It was a good initiative to modernize the drainage system in area. The interior road was dug and pipes were laid down,” he said.

He added that after laying of pipes, the dug up portion of road was refilled with soil and left dilapidated.

“With few drops of rain, the road becomes muddy while in dry weather lot of dust emits. The refilling of dug up road in haphazard manner has left the road non-motorable as well. Both, commuters and locals are facing immense hardships,” he said.

The locals appealed authorities to repair the road forthwith “as the condition of road could go worse after snowfall.”
