Srinagar, Dec 21: Vehicle-borne militants fired at a joint team of police and CRPF at a joint checkpoint in Soura area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening with one of the fleeing militants said to have been injured in the security forces’ retaliatory fire, news agency KNO reported while quoting sources.
As per the report, a team of police led by SP Hazratbal along with CRPF men were checking vehicles at the checkpoint in Soura at the time of the attack.
“Militants fired at the joint party in which no police or CRPF man was injured. In retaliation, probably one militant received injury but escaped.
We are following the vehicle borne militants,” an official said.
