A mysterious blast took place outside Central Jail here on Tuesday, police said.
A police official said that an explosion with a big bang occurred outside highly fortified Central Jail at Kathidarwaza in Downtown.
"It was not clear whether explosion was caused due to grenade or a petrol bomb," the official said. However, police said there was no damage.
A police source said that soon after the explosion, top police officers reached the spot to collect evidences and find out whether the explosion was caused due to grenade or a petrol bomb.
Meanwhile according to GNS militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility of "grenade attack" on the CRPF personnel stationed at the Central Jail.
