Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee on Sunday urged the people to be mindful of the prevailing situation and observe Eid-ul-Azha with austerity.
In a statement, the AAC leaders called upon people to support the affected families and help them in whatever way possible.
"During the meeting, it was decided that this year hides of sacrificial animals should be handed over to the local Bait-ul-Maal. AAC activists collecting the hides have also been asked to hand them over to local Bait-ul-Maal besides keeping an eye on the anti-resistance and anti-unity elements," they said.
"We urge people to follow the unified resistance leadership's programme in letter and spirit."
The AAC leader demanded immediate release of its leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other unified resistance leadership, activists and youth and those under the house arrest.
A meeting of the workers of the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee was presided over by general secretary G N Zaki in Srinagar.
Condemning the arrest of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is lodged in a sub jail for the last 15 days, the AAC leaders and activists demanded his immediate release ahead of Eid ul Azha so that he could fulfill his duties and obligations as religious head of Kashmiri Muslims.
