A Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was held with traders and transporters at Baba Mohalla Maharaj Gunj. 

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of SDPO Maharaj Gunj S M Shafi within the office premises at Bana Mohalla. 

Division officer police post Bana Mohalla Ghulam Muhammad Rather was also present on the occasion. More than 50 participants attended the meeting. 

"Participants informed that there is growing trend of drug addiction, gambling, eveteasing and other social crimes in the society. Mostly the youth have been found involved in it which are bound to degrade social values. These menaces are required to be managed by all stakeholders. They requested for prompt action from police," police said in a statement. 

"They also informed that the local population has been facing certain problems like dearth of light in the streets during night hours which creates hurdles for the public while walking. They said stray dogs have been on prowl posing risk to children and elderly people. The participants also decried power curtailment during crucial hours. They also demanded that passenger vehicles destined to adjacent areas should pass through Downtown areas for the convenience of public," the statement added.

The statement said they were assured that police shall play its role with respect to the addressing above grievances and concerns pertaining to other departments shall be communicated to the concerned forthwith.  "All participants admired the role of police in addressing law and order issues and expected further positive developments," the statement added.
