The holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was displayed on the occasion of Youm-e-Shahdat Hazrat Ali (RA) and Char Yaar (RA) at Hazratbal shrine here on Wednesday as thousands of devotees thronged the venue to have the glimpse.
Devotees including men and women visited the shrine, and participated in the daylong spiritual congregation offering prayers at the Dargah.
The attendance of devotees was highest at noon prayers at the shrine, said a shrine caretaker.
“On this occasion, we have lesser attendance of devotees compared to other occasions. The holy relic was displayed after every Nimaz(prayer),” said Peer Maqsood-ul-Haq, administrator of the Hazratbal shrine, adding that they had made every possible arrangement for the convenience of devotees.
The markets around Hazratbal shrine wore a festive look with people also seen making purchases after the prayers, particularly buying traditional snacks from stalls.
The administration had also made adequate arrangements for the day at the shrine. The day is celebrated every year at 21st of Ramzan.
