Police on Tuesday seized huge cache of narcotic substances at Chattabal area in Downtown here.
Maharaj Gunj sub division police seized Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and other tranquilizing substances during a chance recovery session.
A naka was laid by SI Aijaz Ahmad incharge police post Bagiyas and SI Sheikh Aijaz incharge police post Noorbagh jointly at Chattabal area under the supervision of S M Shafi, SDPO Maharaj Gunj.
“During naka proceedings a load carrier auto under registration No JK01N/ 5982 was apprehended which was found carrying 400 units of Codeine Phosphate packed in two cardboard boxes which were seized instantly. Simultaneously, on the confession of arrested driver, some more seizures of NDPS contrabands comprising 483 units of Codeine Phosphate and 11520 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon were made in the Parimpora area. Total 883 units of Codeine Phosphate units and 11520 caps of Spasmoproxyvon were seized,” police said.
A case under FIR No. 04/2018 u/section 8/21 & 22 of NDPS has been registered in police station Safa Kadal and investigation taken up. Some more seizures are expected in near future. Meanwhile, police action has been widely hailed by people.
