Kashmir University (KU) on Thursday witnessed reshuffle in its administration two days after Prof Talat Ahmad took over as new vice chancellor of the varsity.
Dean College Development Council (DCDC) University of Kashmir Prof Nilofer Khan has been appointed as new registrar KU, relieving Prof Khursheed Bhat of department of commerce of the additional charge of registrar.
"Dr Khursheed Ahmad Butt, professor department of commerce is relieved from additional duties as registrar. Consequent upon the above, Prof Nilofer Hassan Khan, Dean College Development Council shall, in addition to her own duties, function as registrar till further orders," said an official order issued today.
Prof Khan, who is coordinator women's Studies Centre KU, has been former dean students' welfare, former dean faculty of applied sciences and technology and former director institute of home sciences.
In a separate order Prof Ahmad appointed Dr Tanveer Ahmad Shah, joint registrar, development KU as special secretary to the vice chancellor, relieving Faheem Aslam, who was working as PRO to vice chancellor.
"Dr Tanveer Ahmad Shah, joint registrar, development shall function as special secretary to vice chancellor in addition to his own duties with immediate effect. Consequent upon the above, Faheem Aslam PRO to vice chancellor is hereby relieved to join his previous place of posting forthwith," reads the order.
Before being appointed as deputy registrar at KU in 2013 Dr Shah was working as deputy registrar at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. He was also senior manager/deputy director JKEDI.
Through a separate order, editor-cum research assistant in media education and research centre (MERC), Muslim Jan Fazili, was appointed as media coordinator of the varsity. Besides, director finance Manzoor Ahmad Wani will function as director finance and joint registrar accounts (on deputation) vice Parvez Sajad Sofi, said another order.
An official said a major reshuffle was on cards in examination department along with some more changes in administration block.
