Sagar seeks restoration of water supply in Downtown

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday stated that “sloppy disposition” of divisional administration has left people yearning for basic facilities. 

“Sagar who toured many localities including Khanyar wasapprised by the local residents about the slack attitude of the incumbentadministration in mitigating their problems. There is no accountability onground. The fate of the vital projects which were initiated during the NC-ledgovernment has been put into a limbo. Srinagar has conventionally suffered ondevelopment front whenever NC has not been in power. We are aware of thedevelopment needs of the city,” he said.

   

“Srinagar city is the face of our state, unfortunatelythe former BJP-PDP government didn’t rise up to the demands of the historicalcity. Nevertheless, when in power the party will come up with a comprehensiveplan for the all round development of the city and its people,” he said adding,”the district administration and concerned agencies have miserably failed toupkeep the community halls, parks and other vital infrastructure of publicimportance in the historical city,”

“People have apprised me about shortage of drinking water inShaher-e-Khaas.  I have made stopovers atvarious places and where I went I found people aggravated due to the absoluteshortage of drinking water. The taps in the old city of Srinagar are runningdry. Women in particular are finding it difficult to run their kitchen in wakeof water shortage. I urge the district administration to ensure steady supplyin the Shahar e Khas areas of Srinagar,” he said.
