Sheezan Colony residents reel under darkness

Residents of Sheezan Colony, second bylane Mustafabad are up in arms against the PDD for failing to restore power supply in the area.

A delegation from the area said that the colony transformerdeveloped technical snag five days ago. “Ironically, the transformer isyet to be repaired as a result we are reeling under darkness,” the localssaid.

   

The locals said they are facing tremendous problems due to frequent power cuts as the existing 250 KV transformer is critically overloaded. They said the area is fully metered and 92 houses receive power supply from lone sub-station.

They said each house on an average agreement of 3.5 sanctioned load. “The LT lines are also in dilapidated condition. We have been regularly requesting the concerned PDD officials to upgrade the system but they claim that it is not within their competence. He had forwarded our grievance to the higher authorities, but the case was returned back due to huge outstanding which is none of our fault,” the resident said.

“Our lane comprises 25 houses and there is no defaulteramong us. We pay our dues on time but are suffering because of others. Eitherour colony should be provided with high-capacity transformer on priority orincomplete shared-transformer system should commissioned at the earliest. Wemake a fervent appeal to chief engineer PDD to look into the matter and directthe concern officials to restore electricity at the earliest,” they said.
