Srinagar, Oct 9: An amount of Rs 296.44 crore has been allocated as budget for the Srinagar Municipal Corporation(SMC) for the last three years, Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora said Wednesday replying a question by MLC Muhammad Ashraf Mir, an official handout said.
It said: "The Minister further informed the House that an amount of Rs 47.88 crore has been incurred as sanitation expenditure; Rs. 244.79 crore has been spent on civil works during 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 similarly Rs. 18.55 crore has been spent on purchase and procurement of various items."
The Minister further said that six Sewerage Treatment Plants have been commissioned by LAWDA and more would be made available to the SMC.
