A delegation of Municipal employees Union headed by Muhammad Maqbool Malik called on MoS Housing & Urban Development, Asiya Naqqash here to apprise her about various issues facing employees of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).
On the occasion, the delegation demanded holding of departmental promotion committee meeting (DPC), drafting of proper recruitment rules for SMC, reorganization of SMC and regularization of consolidated employees working in SMC.
“The minister listened to our demands and assured that all the issues will be addressed”, said Muhammad Maqbool Malik, president of the union.
“We had decided to go for indefinite strike to press for our demands, but after the assurance of minister we have decided postpone it”, he said.
