Residents of Solina area here on Wednesday staged protest after a truck loaded with goods entered into no entry zone.

Protestors alleged that the entry of truck endangered their life and property. Pertinently, Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh route has been closed for construction of flyover.

"The truck entered into no entry zone and hit one of the pillars of under-construction fly-over. It is sheer negligence of traffic police to allow the truck in the no entry zone. We made several calls to Traffic authorities, however, they refused to visit the spot, saying, the matter pertains to ERA" the protestors said.

The protestors said that the truck has stuck at Solina as it is unable to move in either direction. "Now, the authorities have to dismantle some part of the pillar so that truck can move," they added.

SSP Traffic (City) Maqsood-u-Zaman said that traffic cops are deployed on routes to regulate traffic. "The area in question falls under ERA. It is the ERA which has blocked the road for any traffic movement. ERA has to look into as how truck has entered in that area," he added.
