Residents of Cooperative Colony Peerbagh here have expressed concern over frequent theft incident in the area.
A delegation from the area said thieves struck into many houses in the colony and adjoining areas in past several months. “It seems to be handiwork of some organised gang as the thieves mostly target houses when no one is present there. Many daylight robberies have occurred in the area,” said a group of residents.
“Many former government officers are living in the colony and there is panic among them due to frequent theft incidents. We make a fervent appeal to DIG central Kashmir to look into the matter and direct the concerned police officers to arrest the thieves at the earliest to restore sense of security in the area,” they said
