Wakf Board today demolished several illegal structures at Kathidarwaza area in Shaher-e-Khaas which had come up on its land.
"Some unscrupulous persons had taken undue advantage of ongoing unrest in Kashmir and constructed illegal structures on Wakf land," said an official of Waqf Board.
He said that the demolition drive was undertaken in presence of a magistrate while police assisted the authorities to make the drive successful.
"We warn the miscreants not to construct any sort of illegal structure on Wakf property or encroach upon it land," he said.
Peer Muhammad Hussain, Vice Chancellor Wakf Board said that any illegal activity on the Wakf property would be dealt with strictly under law.
