Srinagar: Four civilians including a woman were injured after militants hurled a grenade at a CRPF bunker in Barbarshah area of Srinagar on Saturday, police said.

“Today at about 1756hrs, terrorists hurled a grenade at Barbarshah Chowk area of Srinagar. Senior police officers reached at the terror crime spot,” said a spokesman.

Preliminary investigation, he said, revealed that militants hurled a grenade upon a joint naka party of Police & CRPF at Barbarshah Chowk area of Srinagar.

However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on road. In this incident, four civilians got injured and were evacuated to nearby hospital for the treatment of their injuries.

Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law.

Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. Area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on.
