AB de Villiers pulls out of Pakistan Leg of Pakistan Super League

South African cricketer AB de Villiers will not be travellingto Karachi for the Pakistan leg of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to aback injury.

The PSL is being played in two parts with the first halfbeing played in the UAE till 5 March after which the tournament shifts on 9March to Karachi for the last four group matches and the knockouts.

   

“It’s a disappointing news for Lahore Qalandars managementand its fans that AB de Villiers will not be able to make it for Pakistan’s legof PSL,” said Sameen Rana, the manager of Lahore Qalandars.

After picking up the injury, AB had gone back home to SouthAfrica to consult his doctor who prescribed immediate rest thus ruling out thecricketer from the rest of the tournament.

“I am very disappointed that I will not be able to playin front of the passionate Pakistani cricket fans. I saw my doctor who hasadvised complete rest for two weeks and, unfortunately, that rules me out ofthe games in Karachi. I hope to be a part of the HBL PSL next year and verymuch hope to play my part in the return of international cricket to thecountry,” de Villiers said in a press statement. Agencies
