Altaf Bukhari, Abdullahs, Mehbooba, ors condemn Dar, Mir’s killings

Srinagar, Oct 29: PDP senior leader and former finance minister Altaf Bukhari, president and vice-president of National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and others have strongly condemned the killing of PDP worker Muhammad Amin Dar at the hands of unknown gunmen at Gangbug on Sunday evening.  

Bukhari, who is outside the country, in a statement termed the deceased as a thorough gentleman who worked tirelessly for the welfare of common people of his area through-out his entire life. “The news of death of Muhammad Amin Dar has come as a shock to me. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,” he remarked.

   

Bukhari observed that the “cowardly act” of the unknown gunmen has not only shattered the economically downtrodden family of the deceased but has also inflicted a personal damage to him.

The former finance minister said that the contribution of the deceased in terms of public welfare shall be remembered for all times to come. “I pray to Almighty Allah to grant him Jannat and bestow endurance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.

FAROOQ, OMAR ABDULLAH  

National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed profound grief over the killing of a PDP activist and J&K Police sub-inspector killed in separate attacks in Srinagar and Pulwama.

 Strongly condemning the attack, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah expressed solidarity with the families of slain PDP leader Muhammad Amin Dar and police sub inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir. Both leaders prayed for peace to the departed souls.  

Senior National Conference leaders, including NC general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, party leaders and legislators have also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the killings and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

Nasir Aslam Wani visited the residence of late Dar at Gangbugh Srinagar and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. 

MEHBOOBA MUFTI 

Condemning the killings of Dar and J&K Polcie sub-inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti expressed concern over violence “becoming rampant” in the Valley. “Again a young budding SI Imtiyaz Mir & Muhammad Amin Dar, a political activist fell prey to the cycle of violence. Condemning these acts of violence & conveying my heartfelt condolences to families of Dar- our party activist and Sub Inspector Imtiyaz Mir of @JmuKmrPolice,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.

PDP DELEGATION VISITS DAR’S RESIDENCE

A PDP delegation led by its Srinagar district President and MLC Muhammad Khurshid Alam on Monday visited the residence of Muhammad Amin Dar and expressed condolences with the bereaved family. 

As per the party spokesman, besides Alam, the delegation comprising of Abdul Hameed Kosheen secretary PDP,  Aijaz Ahmad Rather, district secretary PDP, Muhammad Ashraf Dar , zone President Amira Kadal,  Muhammad Shafi Kundangar, zone president Khanyar and several others visited the residence of the deceased.The delegation expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and hailed the services of Dar towards the people of his areas. It also termed Dar’s demise as a great and irreparable loss for the party. 

CONGRESS 

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) strongly condemned the killings and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families.

In a statement, JKPCC described the killings as shameful and cowardly. “The killings, in any form, must be condemned by every section of the society,” the JKPCC said in a statement, demanding stern punishment for those behind the killings.

GHULAM HASSAN MIR 

Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former Agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Monday  while condemning the killings said, “Nothing can be achieved by these killings.”

He expressed grief over their killings and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
