Ban an election plank: TeM

The Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TeM) Wednesday termed the ban imposed by Government of India on it as an ‘election plank’ by Government of India.

A TeM spokesperson, in a statement to news agency CNS said that TeM doesn’t “believe or practice terrorism”. “Delhi should understand that TeM came into existence to liberate Kashmir after India failed to resolve this long pending issue from 1947 to 1989. Delhi should also keep it in mind that the militants affiliated with TeM helped AmarnathYatra pilgrims during difficult time. TeM is not a terrorist organization but fighting for people of Kashmir who are sacrificing everything for the just cause,” he said.

The TeM said: “India fought its freedom struggle against British under Gandhi and Bhagat Singh, but it is suppressing sentiments of people of Kashmir. The resolution of Kashmir issue is in interest of India. It should resolve this issue in the light of UN Resolution. This way this country can get over the poverty and hunger.”
