Dalits allege atrocity, stage protest

Alleging atrocities with the community on the pretext of Thursday incident in UP, where a boy was killed by unknown persons, several Dalit organizations on Friday held protest here at press club.

 The protest was organized by All J&K Bahujan and Ambedkarites organizations in which a large number of community members participated.

   

While condemning the incident, protesters demanded that the people from the community must be given proper protection and strict action should be taken against those involved in this subversive act.

“A judicial probe be ordered into the incident and anti-social elements, who infiltrated into Dalit groups during the protests be brought to book”, said protesters.

RD Thappa , president of Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan in his address alleged that the country would face a “civil war-like situation” if the government did not step up and took actions to stem the caste-related violence.

“If such things happen again and again then, we Dalit masses will have no other option left other than to hold protest on streets and that would cost the government”, said Thappa.

Advocate Ashok Basotra in his address said that, “It’s is the legacy of fascist forces that are hell-bent to change the demography of this country by implementing agenda of Hinduism”.

Basotra said the Dalit community was oppressed for centuries, “But we still do not want to take the route of violent retaliation”.

Advocate Pawan kundal, Gurbaksh , Vicky, Anil Boudh , Rajeev Bhagat, Sonu also  spoke on the occasion.
