In view of the complaints from the parents, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammed Aijaz Ashad has constituted a district level Task Force (committee) to look into complaints regarding illegal commercial activities of management of private educational institutions in the district.
The spokesman said that large number of complaints were received by the office of District Magistrate (DM) from parents of school going children and from members of civil society regarding commercial activities of schools and making big profits by selling of books, uniform, bags and stationery items etc besides charging exorbitant admission fees.
It was also observed that some of the private educational institutions are running stationery shops in or near school premises .
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch has been nominated as the Chairman of task force while its members are District Panchayat Officer Poonch, Tehsildar concerned, Sudershan Kumar, Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch and Manmohan Singh, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Shiendra Member .
The District level task force is entrusted to submit factual report along with recommendations within a period of one week positively.
