DHSK, 20th battalion organizes medical camp

In a bid to provide better healthcare services, a mega health camp was organized jointly by directorate of health services Kashmir and J&K Armed Police at 20thbattalion Parihaspora Pattan on Saturday.

In a statement here a spokesman of DHSK said that a mega health camp was organized at Parihaspora to provide basic, as well as, specialist health care services to the general public of area. The camp that was organized jointly with 20th battalion of J&K armed police also extended laboratory investigations and free drugs to the people there.

   

More than 1400 patients availed these services that included general medicine, cardiology, gynecology, ENT, psychiatry, oral and paediatric healthcare services. Around 390 persons were screened for diabetes and hypertension, out of which 27 were found suspected for diabetes and 57 for hypertension.

The camp was jointly inaugurated by Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman, and  S A Watali, Inspector General, J&K Armed Police. Dr Rehman stressed on the need of organizing such camps regularly, and help prevent a number of diseases.

IG Watali laid stress on making healthcare services accessible to general public right at their doorsteps and appreciated the organizers that included B A Samoon, Commandant, 20thIRP Battalion, Dr Bashir Chalkoo, Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla and Dr Manzoor  Block Medical Officer Pattan along with other staff for making the camp a great success.
