IGP Pani asks his men to be friendly with people

Inspector General of Police Kashmir range, Swayam Prakash Pani Sunday asked policemen  to adopt a friendly attitude towards people while discharging their duties.

Pani interacted officers and Jawans during his vist to Handwara area of frontier Kupwara district. He was accompanied by DIG NKR, Sunil Gupta and SSP Handwara, Ghulam Jeelani along with other seniouyr officers of the district.

   

Pani told personnel of the force in the district that a friendly attitude to policing will help boost police-public relations and eventually better help understand and speedily resolve the problems faced by the people. 

“Ensure accountability for the actions and discharge responsibilities with due care and caution,” the IGP told the police personnel.

He also pointed out importance and need transparency in the functioning of the police and emphasised the role and use of modern technology in functioning of Police Department. 

“The officials should adopt modern technology for better and transparent policing which is result-oriented and people friendly.” 

Separately, the IGP made a casual inspection to Police Station Handwara and reviewed the functioning of CCTNS project there.
