‘Ikhwan revived to kill pro-freedom voices’

Condemnations against the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) district president Mir Hafizullah continued to pour in on the second day on Wednesday with separatist leaders and parties blaming the agencies for the murder.

Expressing shock and dismay over the killing, the Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) spokesman , in a statement said, “The  human blood has become so cheap in Kashmir that even political activists are being massacred every now and then and people are not told who is after such gruesome and horrible acts.”

The spokesman said, “Unknown gunmen are active in the same manner and way they were in 1990s killing people on the directions of hidden forces.”

Condemning the killing, the Tehreek-e-Muzahamat (TeM) chairman Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui, in a statement termed it a cold blooded murder allegedly carried out by the agencies.

“As a freedom lover and political leader Mir Hafizullah was a brave, courageous, sincere and a visionary being who was working tirelessly for the sacred cause of freedom with missionary zeal and zest.

Sidiqui extended heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved family.

Spokesman of Muslim League (ML) Jammu and Kashmir, headed by incarcerated senior leader Masarat Aalam Bhat, in a statement said,  “Rulers have always played beastly role of eliminating political activists, who raise their voice against this unholy and unjustified forced control of Jammu Kashmir.”

Paying rich tributes to the slain leader, the spokesman said, “Mir Hafizullah was a highly educated, sensible and visionary pro-freedom leader and his sincerity, dedication and sacrifices have earned him a distinguished place and status in the state political circles especially south Kashmir.”

Democratic Political Movement president and senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi paid rich tributes to Hafizullah Mir and described him a great son of soil.

He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM), while condemning the killing, said, “The agencies and their proxies in Jammu and Kashmir have yet unleashed the pro-state militia to cull the pro-freedom voices in Kashmir. It is on the same pattern as that of infamous Ikhwan that brutalised the Kashmir populace during the peak years of militancy with the active support of the state.”
