Jadhav now faces terrorism charges in Pakistan: Media report

Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian who faces spying charges in Pakistan and has been sentenced to death by a military tribunal in the country, is now facing “terrorism” charges, said a media report.

The report published in the Dawn quoting official sources said Jadhav has multiple cases against him in which he had been indicted on “terror- and sabotage” related charges.

   

The cases according to the report were progressing.

Jadhav was captured by Pakistani security forces on March 3, 2016, in Balochistan, mentioned the report.

He was in April last year sentenced to death by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) after being found guilty of espionage under Section 59 of the Pakistan Army Act (PAA), 1952, and Section 3 of the Official Secrets Act of 1923, said the report.

Jadhav had appealed against the conviction which had been rejected by the military app­ellate court and his mercy petition is lying with Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.
